Located on the northeast shores of Newfoundland, this community was once a fishing village. Today, it relies increasingly on tourism, it’s a poor man’s Fogo Island.
Whales, icebergs and beautiful scenery draw the likes of Helen and me here for 48 hours or so, although we’re too late in the season for iceberg viewing. ( I don’t need to see more ice, TBH. )
Oh, and it’s windy.
Helen and I lean into each other for a windy selfie
The Rocks
Like so many other maritime villages, there's a lighthouse at Twillingate (est 1854)
Helen and the lighthouse guide talk about its history
Helen loves climbing shit more than I do
This is more my speed
Helen examining our future retirement home! A little fixer upper.
Not every lighthouse has an "ugly stick".
Like I said, she likes to climb shit
I'm fine down here!
...but then she gets to see stuff like this village near Twillingate
more views... Twillingate is a lovely town
